Morning folks,

Down from the mountains and onto the beach with a couple of haiku this morning…

Snow and salt

Snow

Ponderous cornice

Overhangs snow-choked gully.

Muffled thumps below.

 

 

Animal Seagull Coast Bird Close Fly Water Bird

Salt

White wing tips tracing

Wide circles in salty skies.

Beady eyes assess.

 

Things I’ve read this week…

I’ve mentioned Tom Burton before, but if you haven’t been following his novel on WP you really should give it a look. Tom’s attention to detail in this week’s chapter is entirely in keeping with the rest of his work. The historical research sits beautifully alongside an engaging and action-packed narrative. Tom is an active and supportive member of the author community on WP and if you haven’t followed him, then now’s the time.

Dwight L. Roth is an American poet whose site you will find yourself scrolling down for an indeterminate amount of time, such is the quality and variety of poetry thereon. It really is one of those WP sites that you click onto as a matter of course when a new post pops up on your timeline. I absolutely love Dwight’s work and his site really is candy for the reader in you.

      1. I truly loved it and think the pairing is perfect!! Do you have this kind of scenery just near you where you live? We used to live by the sea and mountains, near Vancouver in Canada. So it all felt a bit like home.
