A Life on Track | Short Story

I’m delighted to feature in a Literally Stories re-run this morning with a piece of flash fiction called ‘A Life on Track’.

The email from Literally Stories stating that ‘A Life on Track’ had been selected for a re-run was an unlooked-for boon. I was also asked to give a mini-interview about the writing process behind the piece; no author worth their salt needs a second invitation for that kind of self-aggrandisement!

Anyway, I hope ‘A Life on Track’ has weathered well over the years (unlike its unfortunate protagonist).

Read it here.

Not necessarily in that order

  1. Ok. I read it. Chugged its way right into my viscera. Don’t know how you, a clearly delightful person, are able to tap into such dark places—though I know we all possess them—and then transform them with such artistry into tales that are both riveting and evoke empathy for your complex, tortured souls. Amazing!

  2. Fantastic story! I really liked that. If you write shorter flash, maybe check out Parhelion Literary Magazine sometime? I’m features editor over there, but I also read some short stories and flash, and we don’t always get enough really good flash. I think our subs open up again after our summer issue goes up.

    1. Thanks Rebecca. Just checked out Parhelion Magazine and there looks like there is some really excellent content on there. Thanks so much for the heads-up for when the subs open up again. I will start rustling something up to submit!
