Good morning folks,
A couple of waterborne haiku…
Gleams over eddy and swirl.
Ragged planks hang fast
Through long drought and ice-bled rush.
Brambles caught between.
Things I’ve read this week…
I stumbled a brilliant, conflicted piece of flash fiction called ‘Crumbling’ by AC Rodriguez. There is so much to unpack in so few words, and this was a story I came back to a few times because I thought it was so emotive.
‘Conscious, Carolina’ by Zach Murphy is featured in Revolt magazine, which publishes stories of Filipinos and much more. As I write this at 3am it is just about the perfect piece of reflective, thoughtful fiction – a beautiful snapshot of a city in repose.
Matthew Richardson is a writer of short stories. His work has featured in Gold Dust magazine, Literally Stories, Near to the Knuckle, McStorytellers, Penny Shorts, Soft Cartel, Whatever Keeps the Lights On, and Shooter magazine. He is a doctoral student at the University of Dundee, a lucky husband, and a proud father.
