Wind and Winter | Haiku

The weather has turned, the nights are drawing in – a couple of appropriately themed haiku…

A grey boulder covered in yellowish lichen.

Wind

Old alluvium,

host to wind-blasted lichen.

Yellow-green on grey.

Image of a winter sun dawning dully. The sky is full of greys and dark blues and ochres. It is as though the dawn is struggling to spread light over the sky.

Winter

Winter dawn’s half-light –

greys and blues, muted ochres.

A dog-day breaking.
