A couple of frigid haiku on a Sunday…

Mountain
A mountain-born cold
carried over cataracts
to frost-tinged plains.

Milksop
A pale, milksop sun
heaves itself up and over.
Winter equinox.

I haven’t heard that lovely word ‘milksop’ for decades!
Great pieces.

Haha same, I’m not sure how it bubbled up in my subconscious from. It feels very Victorian.

Yes, that lovely word – milksop. Perfect for your second haiku with that chilly sun in the winter. Excellently done, Matthew.

Cheers John. Milksop poetry is a genre I’m going to struggle to get off the ground I think!
