A couple of waterborne haiku…
Dapple
Iridescent gloss
Gleams over eddy and swirl.
Downstream, nonetheless.
Dike
Ragged planks hang fast
Through long drought and ice-bled rush.
Brambles caught between.
Things I’ve read this week…
I stumbled a brilliant, conflicted piece of flash fiction called ‘Crumbling’ by AC Rodriguez. There is so much to unpack in so few words, and this was a story I came back to a few times because I thought it was so emotive.
‘Conscious, Carolina’ by Zach Murphy is featured in Revolt magazine, which publishes stories of Filipinos and much more. As I write this at 3am it is just about the perfect piece of reflective, thoughtful fiction – a beautiful snapshot of a city in repose.
