Lull and Long | Haiku

Two haiku for a close, claustrophobic summer day…

A stream running low in its bed

Lull

That summer lull, of

Heavy scents, stultifying

Heat and low-run streams.

Aeroplane contrails across an evening sky

Long

Contrails drawn across

A darkening summer sky

Adventure writ lengthwise.
