Crawl and Clear | Haiku

Ruined and time-worn buildings is my theme for a couple of haiku today…

Ivy creeping across brickwork

Crawl

Roots in the facade.

Years-long crawl across brickword,

Wind-shivered, sun-drenched.

A ruined cottage situated in a glen, left behind from the Highland Clearances

Clear

Scattered ossicles

Amidst the glens; stone scars from

Highland clearances.

Thanks for reading, folks. Pictures courtesy of Pikist and Evelyn Simak. Recent short stories include ‘Bellahouston‘ and ‘Listen‘.
