Flit and Flutter | Haiku

An insect-themed pair of haiku this Sunday…

Bee flying near a purple foxglove flower covered in pollen

Flit

Pollen-laden flit

from bobbing thistle onto

ensconcing foxglove.

Old outdoor lantern with glowing light, cobwebs, and a moth on a wooden porch at night

Flutter

Cobweb-streaked glow of

a porchlight in summer gloom –

powdered wings flutter.

  1. The second one makes me think of when I was a kid and we had a yellow bulb in the garage light which was supposed to be less attractive to moths, but no. They fluttered all around it. Summer nights! Your words catch that scene.
