I am not bemused 😛 You used that word quite a lot in the beginning. Did you do that on purpose? I feel for the protagonist. You’ve conveyed his emotional state like a prose virtuoso.

Yeah I wanted the criminal to attempt to come across as pretending to be bewildered with the legal process. Thanks as always for your kind words!
