Clink and Carapace | Haiku

A couple of Sunday haiku…

Glass jars and bottles beside a blue recycling crate on a residential sidewalk

Clink

Clink and jangle of

loose jars – melodious chime.

It’s recycling day.

Frost-covered canal beside a cottage and leafless trees at dusk

Carapace

Thin, crisp carapace

of ice atop the canal –

first freeze of winter.
