Morning folks,
I’ve been lucky enough to have a short story picked up by Idle Ink. ‘A Spaceman Came Travelling’ is an odd little piece that went through several iterations in my head before eventually making its way onto laptop screen. I’m not sure it fits comfortably in any particular genre, but I’m reasonably pleased with how it turned out.
Read it here.

Certainly not typical of your work, but a highly original piece.

I love your venturing in new directions, Matthew. I don’t find the story odd at all: it encompasses several themes that you’ve been exploring while enlarging your canvas. It reminded me once again how wrong the professor was who told us “art and polemics don’t mix.” Handled gracefully and with the right balance, they sure do. Congratulations!
